Meta Platforms faces sharp criticism from Britain's Gambling Commission over alleged tolerance of illicit gambling advertisements on its social media platforms. Executive director Tim Miller accused the tech giant of knowingly profiting from criminal activity by permitting promotions for unlicensed online casinos—particularly those bypassing the UK's GamStop self-exclusion scheme.

Regulators highlighted Meta's advertising library as evidence, noting easily identifiable 'Not on GamStop' operators. While Meta maintains strict enforcement policies, the commission contends reactive removal is insufficient when illegal ads persistently surface across Facebook and Instagram feeds.
